The North Edwards Water District (NEWD) is changing the primary drinking water source from groundwater wells within the NEWD service area to water supplied by the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency (AVEK). Construction of an intertie that connects AVEK water to the NEWD water distribution system was completed in late October 2023.
